Are the rooms equipped with air conditioning?
No, but for good reason: according to the Energy Act (EnG) of the Canton of Basel-Stadt, the installation of air conditioning systems in new buildings is prohibited. To make you feel comfortable in your room, we have installed an efficient and silent ventilation system that ensures air exchange as long as the windows are closed.
Does the hotel offer room service?
Yes, you can simply scan the QR code provided in your room to use room service.
Which room category is best suited for families?
The Large Junior Suite is ideal for 3 people. We recommend our ART HOUSE Club Suite for 4 or more people.

Which rooms have a balcony or terrace?
All rooms have a French balcony. The Small Queen Room with Terrace, Junior Suite with Terrace, ART HOUSE Club Suite and Terrace Club Suite also have a spacious terrace.
What are the main differences between the room categories?
The room categories differ mainly in terms of room size and the type and size of the beds. In addition, some rooms have a French balcony, others have a terrace. There are no differences in the furnishings.
What is the best way to get here and where can I park my car?
By train: From Basel SBB train station, you can reach our hotel on foot in approximately 10 minutes. For even more convenience, you can travel by tram. From the "Barfüsserplatz" station, it's just a 3-minute walk. The following tram lines go to Barfüsserplatz: Tram 16 towards "Schifflände", Tram 8 towards "Kleinhüningen", Tram 8 towards "Weil am Rhein", or Tram 11 towards "St. Louis Grenze".
By car: It's best to park at the "Steinen" parking garage located at Steinenschanze 5 in Basel. From there, it's only about a 5-minute walk or 300 meters to the hotel. The daily parking rate at the garage is 25 Swiss Francs.
When can I check in? Until when can I check out? And can I leave my luggage with you if I arrive before check-in time?
Check-in is guaranteed from 15:00, while check-out should take place by 12:00 at the latest. If you arrive before the official check-in time and your room is not yet ready, we offer free luggage storage.
What is a Basel Card? How much does it cost? Can I have it in advance?
Overnight guests in Basel receive exclusive benefits, including free bus and tram transportation as well as discounted cultural offerings. A guest tax of 4 Swiss Francs per person per night is applicable during the stay and entitles you to receive the Basel Card. If you wish to receive the card in advance, feel free to contact us, and we will send it to you via email. For further information, please visit Basel Card.
Can I take my dog with me?
Dogs are very welcome at ART HOUSE. A dog package is available for 25 francs per night, which includes a dog bed as well as water and food bowls.
How much does an extra bed/baby crib cost?
The following prices apply for additional overnight guests: An extra bed for persons between 0 and 9 years of age costs CHF 25 per night, while the price for persons aged 10 and over is CHF 50 per night. Baby cribs are provided free of charge.
Is there a laundry service?
Yes, a laundry service is available at ART HOUSE. Please note that this service is not available on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
